MLS Scoring Champion Departs for Turkey

Deal Finalized, Rossi En Route to Istanbul

**Update:** Monday, 7:45 pm ET - LAFC general manager and co-president John Thorrington has confirmed that LAFC is finalizing an agreement to transfer forward Diego Rossi to Fenerbahce.

Diego Rossi, the reigning MLS scoring champion, is reportedly finalizing a deal to leave LAFC for Fenerbahce of the Turkish Süper Lig.

The Columbus Crew originally signed Rossi from Fenerbahce on transfer deadline day in February 2023.

The Uruguayan winger joined Fenerbahce from Major League Soccer's LAFC in September 2022.

Rossi's departure from LAFC marks the end of a successful four-year spell with the club, during which he scored 65 goals in 125 appearances.

The 24-year-old has also been capped 11 times by the Uruguay national team.

Rossi's move to Fenerbahce is a significant coup for the Turkish club, who are currently third in the Süper Lig.

It is also a blow to LAFC, who will be without their star striker for the upcoming season.

However, LAFC have already signed several attacking players this offseason, including Gareth Bale and Cristian Tello.

Rossi's transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days.
