Weissert Returns, Horn Optioned

The Boston Red Sox have announced a roster move, recalling right-handed pitcher Greg Weissert from Triple-A Worcester and optioning left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn to Worcester in a corresponding move.

Weissert's Return

Weissert, 27, has a 1.93 ERA in 14 appearances for Worcester this season, with 23 strikeouts in 18.1 innings pitched.

He made his major league debut with the Red Sox last year, appearing in nine games and posting a 6.75 ERA.

Horn's Option

Horn, 26, has a 4.50 ERA in 16 appearances for the Red Sox this season, with 16 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched.

He was acquired by the Red Sox in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels in March.

Roster Implications

The Red Sox' active roster now stands at 26 players, with 13 pitchers and 13 position players.

Weissert is expected to be available for the Red Sox' series opener against the Houston Astros on Monday.
